At midnight on Saturday night I was messaged by Sam Callander asking about Whey protein isolate and could I feature it on my blog. My initial thought was ok and then decided to do some research in this product.
So what is whey protein isolate???
Whey protein isolate or Whey isolate is a dietary supplement created from filtering Milk protein. Whey comes from the production of cheese.
Whey proteins are very quickly absorbed into the body, and have a high concentration of amino acids which are highly concentrated in muscle tissue, and are used to fuel working muscles and stimulate protein synthesis.
The popularity for Whey protein is increasing because of its ability to be digested very rapidly and help return the post-workout body back from a catabolic (muscle-wasting) state to an anabolic (muscle-building) state. The filtration methods mean that there less chance of allergenic problems than other concentrates and other bovine milk/ dairy products.
There are many benefits to Whey isolates because a higher percentage of pure protein can be filtered enough to be virtually lactose free, carbohydrate free, fat free, and cholesterol free.
Having had little exposure myself to this product I’m sure that to people that frequent the gym & athletes feel the benefit to using Whey products. But this product may not be right for everyone and I would advise anybody considering using supplements & health products to consult the information available or their doctor.
If anybody has experience of using one of these whey products I would love to hear from you so please message me or comment below.
I hope this has pleased you Sam!
